Ramblings from my sometimes twisted brain!

Email from a friend!

A friend of mine sent me a great email at Christmas. I asked him if I could post it in my blog because I thought it was really cool. I pulled out any personal information at his request but I definitely thought it was post worthy!

*******************************************************

I am enjoying Georgia’s win over Texas A&M, although I am listening to this on the radio.  My buddies at Comcast decided to up their fees and drop most of the channels we had.  Progress??!!  I really don’t need digital TV since I am waiting for my TV to die before I go to HDTV.  Maybe Obama can provide me with some economic assistance so I can afford this.  I think every American should have the right to digital cable, don’t you?

The Obama tree story was pretty funny.  I actually saw Obama ornaments in a card shop at the mall.  I hope the people that buy these can read and write, although it’s doubtful.  What do they care, as long as the government takes care of them.  Can’t wait for the health care bill to pass and we give the government control of the other 70% of health care they don’t already have.  I estimate they have about 30% between Medicare and Medicaid already.  I suppose one day we will petition our congressional representative to come to our aid in our attempt to sustain our life longer than the government bureaucrat in charge of such decisions  has decided against our wishes.  If people don’t think health care rationing will be the norm, they probably think Social Security is in the black.   I’m just glad I had my surgery while I still have a choice in the matter.  Why Congress would pass any bill that hurts rather than helps the economy is beyond me.  They really don’t understand that it doesn’t matter if there are 10 or 15 million people without health insurance when there are about twice as many people out of work, working two jobs, or working in a job for much less money than they are qualified for.  Of course, cap and trade will really help the economy improve–can’t wait for that to happen.  Small businesses are scared out of their minds to hire anyone with a health care bill almost passed that will cost more to hire a new employee, much less the crap and trade bill.  Can’t wait for the November elections.  If the Republicans can’t gain a majority, they should look for a new profession.

I am doing OK with my contract job, but looking seriously for perm work in February when this contract will likely run out.  It is a little scary, given the economy as it is now and with an absolute idiot for a President and a Congress only too glad to pass whatever legislation he wants.  Hopefully he will have a short term like the last lame-brain Democrat president, who was a governor in Georgia about 20 years ago–last name Carter, in case you couldn’t guess.

Keep up your musings and stay the course.  We might live through this political disaster the Democrats have been allowed to create.  I think the independents may finally wake up to the mess they created by putting Obama in office with a Democrat majority.  Definitely a recipe for disaster.  I could have told you so.

Let’s not let the facts get in the way of a good rant.
    Unemployed Americans = 14.9m, uninsured = 40m to ? depending who’s counting

Last Dem president was Clinton, not Carter. Remember him? The guy who balanced the budget and gave us a surplus. And most importantly, proved once and for all that, “B.J.’s don’t really count…”

And of course, with one year in office, eveything is Obama’s fault. Because he inherited such a perfectly great situation. Two wars, bank bailout, 1.3T deficit, and on the verge of another depression…..

Can any of you guys comprehend what you are reading? He said the last “lame brain democrat” was Carter. Did it even cross your mind that he wasn’t including Clinton in that category on purpose. I have no idea if he was or not, but unlike you, I’m not going to assume. After all, I know I wish Clinton was President instead of Barack “It’s Bush’s Fault” Obama.

    TM: what about this email?

    Dear TM:

Merry Christmas! No freaking Happy Holidays crap. Can you believe the liberal war on Christmas continues? Heck, Wallmart didn’t have their decorations up until after Labor Day!

And what is up with Obama? Sure we seem to have avoided another great depression, but why hasn’t he fixed everything yet? Jerk. Have you seen the unemployment numbers? They keep going up, at a much much lower rate, but they are still going up.

And now the jerk wants to regulate Wallstreet. The last thing we we need is more govt. regulation. We need to let Wallstreet do whatever it wants. Those poor bankers guys took such a beating last year, I hope they get back some of that bonus money this year.

What about this healthcare bulls–t. Health Insurance company profits were only up 26% this year, I guess they should have cancelled more policies for people who got sick. Free market baby!!!

And don’t get me started about guns. Obama hasn’t proposed any gun control laws, or even talked about it, but that is probably part of his sneaky commie muslim plan to take over the country. Hey, the other day I sold my 357 mag at a gun show to some weird guy talking to himself about a red stapler and shooting up a college campus, but I got a good price.

And he is such a wimp on foriegn policy. Ok, so he is going after training camps in Pakistan which Bush wouldn’t do and McCain said was reckless, but what about the “dithering” on Afganistan? The liberal hate America crowd says Bush/Cheney had no coherent policy there for 7 years, but he has taken 60 freaking days make a decision…..enough already.

Well, Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Man, and let’s pray that our taxes don’t go up. Go TIDE!

It seems to me that everyone is moaning and groaning about Obama and his performance as a President, and no one is looking at the big picture of Politics. True his ratings are low, If McCain had won the Presidency he would have had the same problem plus one extra one (Palin) The mess left behind by the previous administration is one that will take a long, long time to fix. The health care saga has been going on since the Clinton days so its nothing new, when the Republicans took office they just ignored it. Bailouts began with the Bush regime and continues on to line the pockets of the Banks and Big Business Corporations in the way of Bonuses, corruption and payoffs. It speaks for itself when jailed government people still get a bonus and a pay check.
where is all of the Tax money going when Schools, Counties and even city’s are going broke with huge shortfalls
of budgeted Dollars, even the state lottery money slated for schools does not seem to help that situation. I do not want to even mention unemployment. Until the voting public have had enough it will continue on, it does not matter if you are Republican, Democrat, Independent or whatever, its about time we joined together and put an end to this S$#T. But we won’t.We will continue to moan and groan, and bash whoever is in office. I’ll go with Bill and his BJs

    • Ace Merrill says:

Well Bubba you got two things right. It doesnt matter which party is in office and we would be better off with Clinton than the clown leading us now.

If I was you I would quit reading those left wing extreme radical blogs your reading which loves to put words like regime next to Bush and and continues to give Obama a pass by blaming everything on Bush. What happened with unemployment? He said if we didn’t support his spendulus package unemployment would reach 8 percent. Well it passed and now unemployment is around 10 percent. I guess that’s Bush’s fault too?

  6. sad sam says:

Ok, Ace, by your logic then Obama gets the blame for 2% (10-8) and Bush gets it for 8%.

Bubba’s comments were hardly “left wing”. Obama did in inherit a major domo f’up. It isn’t going to be fixed overnight. Hoover cut spending after the Wallstreet crash of 29 and it helped drive us headlong into depression. What Obama is doing is classic econ 101, step in and spend. And I think half his stimulus plan was in fact tax cuts.

I’ve been the healthcare field for 35 years, and I have no idea what the right answer is, but our current system is going to bankrupt us. The insurance companies have an anti-trust expempton, and their profits are up 26% this year. What value to they add to the value chain? They pay claims and negotiate discounts with providers. Not exactly “inventing the microchip” level. They are leeches leveraging their anti-trust exemption and control of the money and congress to (expletive deleted) us up the ass.

But maybe that is your cup of tea.

  7. Charles Elkins says:

Georgia’s win was great. It was an enjoyment that took my mind off the economic and government problems for a while.
    Them seem to grow everyday.
This morning I got a call fron the “gov” that Obama has put into law a requirement that my mortgage company give me an afordable rate and payment. I hung up at that point.
My mortgage company gave me that 5 years ago when I renegoitated during a promotion. Amazing that can do a few things for ourselves.
    Charles

    • twistedmuser says:

I hear you Charles. I don’t know if that whole thing is scam or not, but apparently if you are not upside down on your mortgage AND have kept up the payments, you are not eligible for anything. Seems like you can only get anything if you dont take care of your business. Then all of a sudden you get a better mortgage? This is why we are in this fix. Too many people were given mortgages for houses they couldnt afford. Since many were given 100 percent loans, well no equity involved. So why not walk away? The biggest mistake ever made was allowing these 100 percent loans. Even our illustrious President has talked about having skin in the game, well if you dont have skin in the game regarding your home mortgage, then you are more likely to let it go when the going gets rough. At that point its like paying rent.
Sorry I try not to make comments on here because I do a lot of the posting, but this is a definite pet peeve!
