Big Green Egg Excellent Grilled Chicken Wings with Dijon Potato Salad

Grilled Hot Wings

 

Make coals on Green Egg grill and set temperature at 400 degrees. These wings can also be cooked on a regular charcoal or gas grill.

 

Clean and cut the tips off 3 ½ pounds of chicken wings (about 14-16 wings)/

 

Place wings on grill top and cook turning from side to side for about 30-40 minutes or until wings are crisp.

Sauce (prepare while wings are cooking)

Add to a small cooking pot:

1 cup of Frank’s Original Red Hot Cayenne Pepper Sauce (This makes for hot spicy wings. Less or more hot sauce can be used for your taste).

2 tbs. of lite soy sauce

1 tbs. of butter or margarine

Simmer together until butter is melted.

 

When wings are cooked crispy, place in a covered bowl and pour sauce over wings. Close lid and lightly shake to cover with hot sauce.

Return wings to the grill and cook on both sides for about 2 minutes just to cook sauce on wings.

 

Serve with Simple Dijon Potato Salad and celery with ranch or blue cheese for dipping.

 

Simple Dijon Potato Salad:Awesome tater salad! 

                 Awesome tater salad!

Cook 1 pound of red new potatoes with skin on until tender

Cube potatoes into small pieces

Add salt and pepper to taste

Thinly slice 2 green onions and stir into potatoes

 

Dijon Dressing: (Mix in a cruet or whisk in a small bowl)

½ c. olive oil

3 tbs. red wine vinegar

½ tsp. Dijon mustard

¾ tsp. kosher salt

¼ tsp. fresh cracked pepper

2 cloves crushed garlic

 

Stir dressing mix into potatoes and green onions

  1. Fancy celery you got there! Looks good. I might have to make these again soon… only I don’t have a green egg :( . I guess my regular gas grill will have to do.

  2. I recently got a Green Egg and haven’t used it yet. I am definitely going to try out this recipe for my first cook-out! BTW, great website. I wish I had time to host a blog. Looks like fun!

    Gas grills work great. Get it hot, then back down the flames. You dont want the flames burning the wings, but otherwise it will work just fine.
