Les Paul

Les Paul died today at the age of 94. You may remember his, Les Paul and Mary Ford record hits of the 50/60′s. Songs such as “Sitting On Top of the World”, “Hummingbird”, “Walkin’ and Whistling Blues”, and “Lover”, just to mention a few of his many compositions.

 

Les Paul was an innovator in electric guitar and multi track recording, Many musicians and

recording engineers copied his styling’s. Les Paul  began experimenting with designs for an electric model of his own as he was tired of the old acoustic models

 

His first was the “log” nothing more than a length of 4 x 4 with bridge, guitar neck, and pick up

attached. Paul later on partnered with Gibson and to this day various models of Gibson Les Paul guitars are used all over the world.

 

Les Paul and Mary Ford was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1978
